X-Men Movie Review
X-Men came out in the year 2000 and is directed by Bryan Singer. This film started what we expect from superhero films today: A darker atmosphere, meaningful characters, a big finale and the possibility of a sequel. It also started the film career of Hugh Jackman so there's a plus. X-Men is set in "the not too distant future" where mutants are the next step in our genetic evolution. However, most humans are scared of mutants and their powers and don't know what to do with them. This creates a conflict of sorts between mutants and humans. Enter Charles Xavier and Magneto/Erik Lensherr. Charles (Patrick Stewart) wants mutants and humans to coexist. He runs a school to help mutants grow their power. Magneto (Ian McKellen) wants mutants to rule over humans. This is where the big conflict of X-Men starts. Charles' team vs Magneto's team over what is best for mutant kind.
